Roadheader Drivage / Tunnel Excavation

CMS owns two Mitsui S200 MA Roadheaders available for wet or dry hire. The machines are low profile, remotely controlled and designed to excavate rock of compressive strength up to 100Mpa. Tunnel dimensions can be up to 6.3m wide and 5.1m high in a single pass. The Roadheaders are compliant with all current Australian Standards and Mines department guidelines.

Labour Hire

CMS provides top quality labour for all Mining/Tunnelling applications to supplement your existing workforce or to manage any contract or subcontract projects. Skilled labour includes: Project Mangers, Engineers, Coal Mine Deputies, Fitter/Mechanics, Electricians, Multiskilled Mineworkers, Miner Operators, and Trainer/Assessors.

CMS carry out thorough checks to ensure only the highest quality workforce are provided to our clients.

Mining Equipment Hire

CMS have a large range of equipment for hire for Mining and Civil applications.

Training and Training package development

CMS have nationally accredited Trainers and Assessors available for delivery of existing training packages, as well as the ability to produce training packages on all types of underground construction equipment. Our Trainers also provide OH&S training for the underground environment.

Installation of Primary and Secondary support
(roof/rib bolts, cable bolts)

CMS in conjunction with Brownell Engineering have developed specialised drill rigs for installation of all types of rock bolts and cables used in underground applications. The drill rigs operate on compressed air and have proven to perform under the harshest of conditions. The rigs can be used for roof bolts and cables, rib bolts, floor bolts and face bolts (spiling). The rigs are also able to be used for drilling to allow the use of explosives for shot firing applications.

Concrete, Shotcrete and Grouting works

CMS have electric and pneumatic concrete and grout mixing, pumping and spraying equipment which enables us to place the product almost anywhere. Examples are:-

• Conveyor footings
• Roof and Rib stabilisation
• Ventilation control Devices
• Shaft linings
• Cable grouting
• Spiling
• Reduction of Water ingress
• Plaster spraying

Supply and installation of Ventilation Control Devices

CMS supply and install a wide range of ventilation devices for all Coal Mining applications including:

• Membrane type stoppings (with or without access doors)
• Overcasts
• Regulators
• Double Doors

Longwall moves

CMS supply fully trained, competent personnel for supplementation of existing workforces to carry out Longwall relocations, including the safe recovery, transport and installation of the complete Longwall system.

Conveyor Belt installation and maintenance

CMS carry out full conveyor belt installation services. Surface mock ups when required. The utmost care and precision is used when installing belt systems to ensure trouble free running and minimum ongoing maintenance is required.

Mining Engineering Supplies and Fabrication

CMS in conjunction with Brownell Engineering are able to supply Mining consumables such as:

• Cable Hangers
• Pipe Hangers
• Cable rollers
• Hook and D nuts
• Roof Bolting stools
• Cable Management Baskets
• Hose Management reels
• Chain support brackets

Any specialised fabrication can be done at our workshop or onsite at reasonable rates.

Engineering Services / Equipment Overhaul

Our workshop at Tomago carries out all types of mining equipment overhaul and fabrication of Mining equipment. Free quotations of all overhauls and/or manufactured items ensure that the customer knows what the price is first up.
